Possible Apple event set for March 8th
According to rumours we may see an Apple event at the start of March (possibly March 8th or 9th for us here in Western Australia.)
From the rumours we should see the iPhone SE (3rd Generation), an updated iPad Air and possibly an update to a Mac.
The Mac update is still a bit up in the air - some rumours think it could be an upgraded Mac mini “Pro”, a possible upgrade to the MacBook Pro 13” or maybe the long awaited iMac 27” upgrade.
Who would know,.. (well, apart from Apple).
Watch this space in March and hopefully we’ll see some exciting products upgraded. More to follow as it becomes available.
Have you considered if your computer stops working or could be down for quite a while?
If your computer crashes or is down for a long period time, or even if it’s going to be away for service work for a while, have you considered the down time this could cause to yourself, your work and/or business?
There is a way that an external drive can be set up beforehand where in these sort of circumstances you can still be up and running relatively easy - even if your computer has to go away for days to be repaired.
It’s a relatively cheap and easy process.
If you would like to find out more about how this can be set up for yourself or your business please feel free to drop me an email or call to discuss.
If you use Microsoft’s OneDrive for Cloud syncing - just be aware of an update they are rolling out which only gives you “On Demand” to your files. So all local copies could be removed off the computer and only available “in the cloud” for you to actually work on them - which can cause slow access as it always requires the internet plus if no internet access creates more headaches. There are quite a few complaints on various forums and blogs around the world.
There are some work arounds in where you have to click the “cloud icon” to force it to try save copies locally, but some people even had issues with that.
So hopefully Microsoft will listen and change it back to “On Demand” and “Local Files” like it’s been previously.

Be aware of “Fake webpages” advising you need to update.
So there is a bit of a rise on the number of webpages or fake links that will try to trick you into calling a number or clicking a link to “update” some piece of software.
I’ve written a page with a bit more info on it here
