Terms & Conditions
The terms that apply when MacWizardry supplies products or provides technical support and related services.
Last updated: September 2026
These Terms & Conditions apply to products and services supplied by MacWizardry. By accepting a quote, ordering products, booking an appointment, requesting that work proceed, or otherwise engaging MacWizardry to provide products or services, you agree to these Terms & Conditions where applicable.
You are encouraged to read these Terms & Conditions before engaging MacWizardry.
Nothing in these Terms & Conditions is intended to exclude, restrict or modify any rights or remedies that cannot legally be excluded, including rights available under the Australian Consumer Law.
Services
MacWizardry provides Apple-focused technical support, consulting, setup, troubleshooting, training and related services to home users and businesses.
I will take reasonable care when carrying out work and will discuss significant additional work with you where practical before proceeding.
Technical problems can sometimes require investigation before the cause or solution can be determined. Time spent diagnosing or investigating a problem forms part of the service provided and may be chargeable even where the problem cannot ultimately be resolved.
Service charges
Current service rates and applicable minimum charges are published on the MacWizardry Support page or advised to you before work is undertaken.
Charges are based on the time spent providing the requested service unless a fixed price has been agreed beforehand.
Additional expenses such as parts, products, software, subscriptions, freight or other third-party costs may be charged separately where applicable.
Quotes and estimates
Quotes are based on the information available at the time they are prepared.
If the nature or scope of the work changes, or an unexpected issue is discovered, additional work may be required. Where practical, I will discuss significant additional costs with you before proceeding.
Unless specifically stated otherwise, a quote for technical support should not be interpreted as a guarantee that a particular technical problem can be resolved within a particular amount of time.
Products and equipment
Products supplied by MacWizardry may include Apple products and equipment, accessories, storage devices, networking equipment and other technology products.
Product availability, specifications and pricing can change without notice before an order is confirmed.
Specially ordered products may require payment or a deposit before they are ordered.
Manufacturer warranties and support arrangements may apply to products supplied by MacWizardry. These are in addition to any rights you may have under Australian Consumer Law.
Australian Consumer Law
Products and services supplied by MacWizardry may come with consumer guarantees under the Australian Consumer Law.
These rights apply automatically where the law provides for them and are not replaced or limited by these Terms & Conditions, a manufacturer's warranty or any additional warranty.
Depending on the circumstances, remedies available under Australian Consumer Law may include repair, replacement, refund, cancellation or compensation.
Backups and your data
You are strongly encouraged to maintain a current backup of important information before technical work is carried out.
Computers, storage devices and software can fail unexpectedly, and some troubleshooting, repair, upgrade or installation procedures can involve a risk of data loss.
Where appropriate, I may recommend or assist with creating a backup before work begins.
While reasonable care will be taken when working with your equipment and data, MacWizardry cannot guarantee that data can always be recovered or preserved, particularly where equipment, storage media or existing data is already damaged, corrupted or failing.
Nothing in this section excludes liability that cannot legally be excluded.
Passwords and account access
Some services may require temporary access to your device, user account or online service.
You should only provide passwords or access where reasonably necessary for the work being performed.
Where practical, you may enter passwords yourself rather than providing them to me.
You remain responsible for maintaining the security of your accounts and for changing passwords where you believe they may have been compromised.
Remote support
Remote support is provided only with your permission.
During a remote-support session, you may be able to see the work being performed and can end the session at any time.
Remote access does not provide MacWizardry with permanent access to your computer unless a separate ongoing arrangement has specifically been agreed.
Third-party products and services
MacWizardry may recommend, configure or assist with products and services supplied by third parties, including Apple, internet providers, software developers, cloud services and other technology providers.
Those products and services may be subject to the third party's own terms, pricing, warranties and privacy policies.
MacWizardry is not responsible for changes made by a third-party provider to its products, services, pricing, availability or policies.
This does not affect any responsibility MacWizardry may have under applicable law for products or services supplied directly by MacWizardry.
Appointments and cancellations
If you need to cancel or reschedule an appointment, please provide as much notice as reasonably possible.
If I am unable to attend an appointment or need to change an arranged time, I will contact you as soon as reasonably possible.
Payment
Invoices are payable within the payment period shown on the invoice unless another arrangement has been agreed.
Products that are specially ordered or supplied may require payment before ordering or delivery.
Ownership of goods supplied by MacWizardry remains with MacWizardry until payment for those goods has been received in full, to the extent permitted by law.

The current version will be published on the MacWizardry website.
