November 2022

And with that,…November rolls around. Hard to believe. Soon we’ll start seeing all the decorations going up for December!

On the Apple front after some interesting releases during the year the latest rumours are we won’t see any more hardware updates now until next year.

And with more Covid lockdowns in China we’re back to seeing delays in products again as manufacturing lockdowns go into place. So orders are again taking longer than normal to get in.  Apple have announced some items may not even ship in time for Christmas.

So nows the time to be ordering if you did need/want something - and we can see how we go.

Few more software updates due for the remainder of the month and next month. Otherwise looks to be a fairly quiet month so far.

A good time to catch up on an iT Audit or take stock of everything computer related.

15 tips to improve battery life in iOS16

If you’re running iOS16 on your devices, or have one of the fantastic iPhone 14 models there was a good article this month on MacRumors that can help you get the most out of your battery life. Worth a read as even if you’re not using all the features you may find something in there you weren’t aware of.

Such things as Haptic feedback, non-animated wallpapers, App Location data and more….

You can read all the tips here.

Have you considered if your computer stops working or could be down for quite a while?

If your computer crashes or is down for a long period time, or even if it’s going to be away for service work for a while, have you considered the down time this could cause to yourself, your work and/or business?

There is a way that an external drive can be set up beforehand where in these sort of circumstances you can still be up and running relatively easy - even if your computer has to go away for days to be repaired.

It’s a relatively cheap and easy process.

If you would like to find out more about how this can be set up for yourself or your business please feel free to drop me an email or call to discuss.

Be aware of “Fake webpages” advising you need to update.

So there is a bit of a rise on the number of webpages or fake links that will try to trick you into calling a number or clicking a link to “update” some piece of software.

I’ve written a page with a bit more info on it here
